Aphid Parasite

The adult Aphidius parasitizes nymphs and adult aphids.  The egg, larval and pupal stage take place in the aphid.  The larva spins a cocoon inside the aphid, which makes the aphid swell and become metallic brown or gray.  After pupation the adult leaves the mummy through a round hole.
