Adults are beige - pink in color.  First and second stage nymphs and adults are predacious.  Adults have 8 legs, prey on thrips eggs and adults and also on spider mites.  At 75°F egg to adult takes approximately 6 - 9 days and adults live ~ 20 days.


Phytoseiulus persimilis

Originally from Chile, predatory mites prey on all stages of spider mite. Second stage nymphs and adults are predatory. Adults are bright red - orange in color and move quickly. Optimal temperature is 68°F and >60% humidity. Does not do well in high temperatures (>80°F). Life cycle 2 weeks - 30 days.
