Eretmocerus are tiny wasps that kill the larva of whitefly. Eretmocerus accomplish this by laying one or more of their eggs under the venter of whitefly larva. The Eretmocerus egg hatches and enters the whitefly larva, where it feeds and develops, thereby killing the larva. Upon complete development, an adult Eretmocerus wasp chews out through the back of the whitefly larva. In addition, adult Eretmocerus also cause significant damage to whitefly populations by host feeding on the larva.
