Fungus Gnat, Thrips and Shore  Fly Predator

Hypoaspis are tiny brown mites that dwell in the soil medium. Eggs are laid on the soil surface. Nymphs and adults feed on fungus gnat larvae, pupating thrips and shore fly larvae. They are also very useful on the floor area of greenhouses where they prey on significant numbers on pupating thrips.  Moist conditions are favorable for reproduction. Life cycle ~1 week.
